Fireline EMT & Fireline Paramedic
2026 Wildland Fire Season
BeyondMDX is seeking Fireline-Qualified EMTs (EMTF) and
Fireline Paramedics (EMPF) for the 2026 wildland fire season.
Providers deployed under BeyondMDX deliver critical patient care in austere and
dynamic environments in direct support of wildland fire operations.
This role requires a high level of physical fitness, strong clinical competence,
and the ability to operate independently in rapidly changing operational environments.
Position Summary
Providers may deploy as a single-resource medical provider or as part of
a BLS or ALS module, depending on incident needs.
Assignments occur on active wildland fires throughout the United States.
Providers must demonstrate independent decision-making, effective patient management
in remote settings, and the ability to integrate within an interagency
incident command structure.
Minimum Experience Requirements
- One year of wildland fire experience

One year of 911 EMS experience at current certification level
(minimum of 50 patient contacts; paramedics must have 50 contacts as paramedic in charge)

- RT-130 (may be obtained during BeyondMDX Critical training)
- Arduous Pack Test (WCT) (may be obtained during BeyondMDX Critical training)

- IS-100

EMS / Medical
- Current NREMT-Basic certification
- Montana State EMS certification or license

EMS licensure in any desired deployment state
- Compact EMS licensure allows deployment into most other Compact states
- Current AHA BLS
- PHTLS
Fireline Paramedic (EMPF)

Employment Structure
- W-2 employee
- Hourly, non-exempt
- Clean driving record required for fleet or rental vehicle operation
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Structure
- Travel days: Paid at actual hours traveled
- Incident days: Paid at 16 hours per day
- Overtime: 1.5× after 40 hours per week
- California assignments adjusted for CA labor law
- Pay schedule: Bi-weekly
Base Pay Rates
- EMTF: $25.00/hr
- EMPF: $35.00/hr
Health & Wellness Stipend
- $5.55/hr for the first 40 hours each week
- Subject to federal guideline changes
Travel & Incident Support
- Fleet or rental vehicles provided
- Per diem: $75/day during travel
- Lodging provided or reimbursed if required
Deployment Expectations
- Typical fire season: May through October
- No guarantee of hours or deployments
- Minimum 14-day national deployment plus travel
- Must be self-sufficient with personal gear
- Physically demanding, austere environments
